Going to a professional career counsellors can be quite
helpful. We recommend it highly.
Unfortunately, however, anyone can call themselves a "counsellor" or "career
counsellor". You want to get one who is professionally
trained.
If you are a student, you will likely have access to a
trained counsellor. There are also government and private
sources of career counselling. The
Canada Career Consortium's "The
Work Handbook" gives you valuable tips on seeking
career counselling.
The National Career Development
Association's website,
even though it is written for an American audience, is
also an excellent source. Under the heading and drop down
menu "Career Center" select "Need a Career
